Online Order FAQs

1. What is an online order?

An Online Order is a textbook or merchandise order placed through our MCC Bookstore website.


2. Why should I place an online order?

Ordering online provides the customer with the luxury of selecting clothing, other merchandise and textbooks from the comfort of your own home or where ever you are when you visit our site. During the semester, ordering your textbooks online through www.monroecc.edu/go/bookstore gives you the most updated materials required at the most reasonable price. We even provide you with the prices of our competitors so you can decide for yourself. Not to mention online ordering guarantees you the materials you need before the books even hit the shelf.


3. How do I place an online order?

To place an online order go to www.monroecc.edu/go/bookstore and click on the tab on the right that says “LOG IN.” If you have not yet created a profile, select “REGISTER HERE” and fill out the necessary information or continue shopping as a Guest. If you do have a profile, please log in and begin shopping!


4. What is an Order Number?

The ORDER NUMBER is the confirmation number that is given when placing an order. The ORDER NUMBER is a five-digit number that you will need to pick up or gain information about your order.


5. Where do I find my Order Confirmation?

Your order confirmation can be found in your email inbox that you placed the order with.


6. Is the cost the same as buying a book in the MCC Bookstore?

Yes the price stays the same whether you order online or come in and buy an item.


7. If I place an order online can I have it shipped to me? How much is it to ship an order? Once my order is processed how long will it take to ship?

Yes, we ship via UPS Ground. Shipping is a flat-rate of $14.00 for the 1st item and $1.00 each additional item. Some oversized items may have an additional fee. Delivery times vary based on carrier and location.

 

8. Can I place an order online and come pick it up? Where do I pick it up?

Yes, we do have a PICK UP AT STORE option for both campuses. The PICK UP AT STORE option is located in STEP 3 (DELIVERY METHODS) of the checkout process. Please visit the MCC Bookstore to claim your order once you receive confirmation that it's ready.  Special Note* In order for the staff of the Brighton Campus Bookstore to provide the best customer service, the option for PICK UP AT STORE for the Brighton campus only will be unavailable Jan 19th - 27th.  If you have not placed an order before Jan 19th - come inside the 1st level of the Bookstore to get your textbooks. 

 

9. How long does an order take to process?

We strive to place orders in a timely fashion. During busy times, like the beginning of a semester or around holidays, additional processing time is to be expected.


10. When picking up an online order, what information do I need?

A PHOTO ID and your ORDER NUMBER are required to pick up your online order.


11. I placed an order online and have not received an update to the status of my order. What do I do?

Log in to the MCC Bookstore website and select the option “TRACK ORDER” to check the status. If there are any other issues with tracking the order please contact us at bookstore@monroecc.edu or (585) 292-2020.


12. I received an email that my order was not processed due to a payment error. What do I do?

Contact Cristie via email (crennie1@monroecc.edu) or by telephone (585) 292-2502 so that we can provide you with any information we have to help solve this problem.


13. When is the best time to pick up an online order?

Once an order has been processed AND you have received your Order Pickup Confirmation email that your order is ready, the best time to pick up your order is always as soon as possible during operating hours.


14. Can I pay with an MCC Bookstore gift card? How?

Yes, you can! Once you reach the Payment Information section of your online order: select the gift card option located under Payment Type. If you have a physical Gift Card, enter the 19-digit number located on the back of the Gift Card. Scratch off the back of the Gift Card to locate the PIN number. You will also be asked for Credit Card information as well. The Gift Card will be applied to the purchase first and the value of the Gift Card.


15. Why do I see a charge of $1.00 on my card?

When placing an order, an authorization hold for $1.00 will take place on your card. We will only charge you for what items we actually process for your order. If an item is back-ordered, you won't be charged until that item arrives. This may mean that your order is processed in multiple shipments.
